Increasing Health Care Enrollment for Survivors of Domestic Violence (2022). Resource Type: Toolkit. Description: People who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) have unique health care needs, making insurance that covers comprehensive medical and behavioral health benefits all the more critical. Community health centers play an important role in helping survivors enroll in coverage and receive quality primary health and oral health care services. MLP in Health Centers Guide Webinar Series Part 4: The Medical-Public Defender Partnership (2022). Resource Type: Archived Webinar. Description: Since its founding in the early 1990s, the MLP approach has evolved to incorporate criminal legal in addition to civil legal needs. One of the first MLPs focused on criminal legal needs emerged in Rhode Island, where health centers have partnered with the Rhode Island Public Defender’s Office to collaborate around preserving their shared clients’/patients’ health.
